About Okiemute Kimberly Sagua

Okiemute Kimberly Sagua knows what it feels like to look successful on the outside but feel empty on the inside. For many years, she worked in the banking sector, earned a decent salary, wore the right clothes, and held a respectable job title. People assumed she was financially comfortable. But the truth was painfully different.

“Despite all my years of hard work, I had little to show for it,” she admits. Her financial habits were in a mess—spending almost everything she earned, constantly wishing for a better-paying job, and believing that more money was the answer. Yet no matter how much came in, it always found its way back out.

The turning point came when she discovered a powerful truth: *wealth is not created by how much you earn, but by how much you can retain of what you earn.* That realization transformed her financial journey and reshaped her entire outlook on money. For the first time, she understood that money management is not about waiting for a windfall or luck—it is about developing habits that put you in control.

Her deep expertise spans treasury, financial risk management, investment strategies, and personal wealth—expertise she now uses to drive excellence in liquidity management, asset optimisation, and wealth preservation.

Mission

Okiemute’s mission is deeply personal: to help people build wealth that lasts, regardless of what they do, where they live, or how much they earn. She is passionate about empowering professionals, business owners, and Nigerians living in the diaspora to take control of their money and thrive intentionally.

She does this through her books, speaking engagements, webinars, one-on-one coaching, online courses, personal finance applications and carefully curated content across her social media platforms.

She has seen firsthand how misinformation and confusion surround money, especially in Nigeria and across Africa. Too often, financial freedom feels like a dream reserved for the wealthy, politicians, or those with international connections. Okiemute rejects that. She declares that financial freedom is available to anyone willing to work for it, a student, trader, banker, artisan, or professional. Anyone willing to take action, change habits, and start making intentional choices can change their approach to money.

Philosophy

At the heart of Okiemute’s philosophy is a simple but radical belief: wealth creation is not about the size of your paycheck but how well you manage what you earn.

She teaches that money management is not about waiting for a windfall or hoping for luck but about developing habits that put you in control. She speaks against the extremes she sees around her—helplessness on one side and unhealthy obsession with quick fixes like gambling, risky ventures, etc. She laments the rise of internet fraudsters and lifestyle influencers and the scarcity of balanced conversations about building wealth slowly, wisely, and sustainably.

Her guiding principle: you could hand two people the same amount of money, and within a year, one might multiply it while the other ends up in debt. The difference lies not in the amount itself but in the decisions made concerning that sum. By normalizing conversations around saving, investing, discipline, and long-term planning, she believes we can equip ourselves and the next generation with tools that truly change lives.
